Summary0001330: [SWAN]Puck noise at channel zapping and Google menu
DescriptionHi, Jacky

We found "Puck noise" during channel zapping(live) and Google menu navigate.
This issue also reported from SKB.
As I analysis waveform, VS-550 output garbage data at unwanted time.
Please improve S/W.

Hi Lonnie,

We think it's related to Synaptics AMPSDK and will check with them.

Hi Lonnie,

1. "Google menu navigate"
Could you tell me the path to Google menu?
     Do you mean Settings page?
2. Please disable "System sounds" and check if this issue still happens.
Settings -> Device Preferences -> Sound -> System sounds => disable it

Hi Lonnie,

Due to lack of IPTV environment in Taiwan, we can not reproduce this issue.
Please help to do some tests that we can try to identify the possible cause of the noise.
1. Using keyevent 166(channel up) and 167(channel down) to reproduce this issue instead of using a remote control.
2. Set passthrough mode and check if there is noise or not.

Status Update:

Lonnie:
1. Using keyevent 166(channel up) and 167(channel down) to reproduce this issue instead of using a remote control. --> noise
2. Set passthrough mode and check if there is noise or not. --> noise

Bcan:
1. The system sounds is already disabled.
2. Use keyevent, the noise exists. This excludes affection from the BT remote control.
3. In passthrough mode, the noise exists. This excludes affection of I2S.
4. So we think the noise goes with IPTV player.
=> Please check with SPTek and Synaptics.

Hi, Bcan

I think VS-550 cannot mute perfectly after muting for channel change.
So, I think you improve VS-550 S/W.

Hi Lonnie,

We did some test as described the following ppt file.
Actually, when channel zapping, we did not control any mute/unmute function.
I think the issue is caused by IPTV player stop a old channel and IPTV starts a new channel.
The noise audio is the same as channel audio but just has some gap.
For example, it may caused by system busy when IPTV player stop a channel.
So, the best way is to ask Synaptics Kail or Tony's help to fix it.
